How does ReadAloud+ work?
Scan a printed page or import an image, and ReadAloud+ uses optical character recognition (OCR) to read the text, then plays it back aloud with natural-sounding text-to-speech. You can follow along with on-screen word highlighting and adjust the voice and reading speed.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. New users get a 3-day free trial. After the trial, a subscription ($9.99/month or $79.99/year) is required to continue using the app. A Sign in with Apple account is required.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and renew automatically. You can manage or cancel anytime in the Settings app on your iPhone: tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before your free trial or current billing period ends.
How do I request a refund?
Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled through Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID to request a refund. If you need help, email us and we’ll do our best to assist.
How do I delete my account and data?
You can delete your account directly in the app: open Settings within ReadAloud+ and choose the account-deletion option. This permanently removes your account and associated data. Scanned documents are never stored on our servers — they exist only while you’re viewing them.
What devices are supported?
ReadAloud+ runs on iPhone and iPad with a current version of iOS. A camera is needed to scan physical documents; you can also import images from your photo library.
Does ReadAloud+ work offline?
An internet connection gives you the highest-quality OCR and voices. When you’re offline, ReadAloud+ automatically falls back to on-device text recognition and built-in voices so you can keep reading.
Is ReadAloud+ accessible?
Accessibility is central to ReadAloud+. The app supports VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, and high-contrast reading, and is designed for people with low vision and reading disabilities. If something isn’t working well for you, please let us know.
